1. ¿A quién Está Enfocado?
A empresas de tamaño medio o pequeño que no pueden permitirse la inversión en un software completo. De este modo, acceden a una serie de módulos o partes, a bajo coste a modo de alquiler de plataforma.
2. ¿Cómo es la implementación?
No se trata de un programa completo de software, es sólo una parte de él; ni tampoco se trata de una instalación, es una limitación de medidas y accesos. Únicamente se fijan los parámetros demandados por el usuario y se lanza a la nube. Es decir, su acceso será mediante Internet a través de la plataforma de Cloud Computing. En resumen, es muy rápida su implementación.
3. ¿Cuáles son las Ventajas del SAAS?
- Su bajo costo. Ya que no es necesaria una gran inversión en un software, hardware o licencias de uso. El sistema de pago es igual al de un alquiler.
- La reducción de riesgo. En relación con la seguridad de datos. En este caso por más que haya un error, la nube no se dañará, es decir, evitamos la pérdida masiva de datos por un problema o virus en el software.
- Reducción de tiempo de implementación. No requiere instalación, solo el acceso a la nube. Es inmediato.
- Su acceso remoto desde cualquier lugar a cualquier hora (24x7x365) por una cantidad fijada de usuarios, eso sí, con el requisito indispensable de tener una conexión a Internet.
4. ¿Cuáles son los Inconvenientes de tener un Servicio SAAS?
- Existen ciertas resistencias acerca de la situación de las bases de datos de la empresa en una nube. Los usuarios sienten cierto temor a tener los datos “en la red”.
- Por un lado, la información va a estar en la nube, así que asegúrate de que proveedor con el que contrates el servicio te garantice un buen sistema que proteja los datos que maneja tu empresa.
- Y por otro, el problema que te puede surgir son interrupciones por la red y la conectividad. Esta desventaja tiene que ver por un lado con la caída de la red (desconexión total), y por otro, por la velocidad de Internet que la compañía tenga contratada. Cuanta menos velocidad de Internet, más baja será la velocidad de conexión, y más lento irá el servicio SAAS.
